WALT DISNEY’S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT AND SPA IS THE BEST DISNEY RESORT FOR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
Arguably Walt Disney’s most expensive and fanciest resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian oozes high class and style.
From the intricate woodwork to the fresh flower arrangements throughout the lobby, the Grand Floridian spares no detail or expense.
Unlike some of the other resorts –Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Polynesian, or Wilderness Lodge, the décor and theming is not kitsch or cartoony. Instead, the entire spa-like resort is luxurious and traditional.

That same décor and tradition is carried through in the Christmas decorations! Great care is taken to unify the color schemes, fluff artificial greenery, and even assemble a life-sized gingerbread house.
Christmas at the Grand Floridian
If you love Christmas and Christmas decorations while also basking in the lap of luxury, then the Grand Floridian is your place.
From the enormous, 4-story Christmas tree adorned with glass bulbs and delicate lights to the swags of garland hung across the entryway, the entire resort is covered in beautiful Christmas décor.
Beyond the decoration itself is traditional Christmas music piped throughout the main lobbies, the pool, and even the entryways.
Live piano music plays themed carols throughout the afternoon, and the piece de resistance –the enormous gingerbread house –draws crowds daily.
The gingerbread house is not only a real, edible baked decoration, it also serves as a shop. Resort-goers can purchase gingerbread, Christmas and Disney themed treats, and souvenirs.
Even the gingerbread house itself, made from more than 1000 pounds of honey, is covered in coordinated Christmas décor. The house is decked out in trees, tinsel, nutcrackers, swags of garland, ribbons, poinsettia, and more.
The place is a Christmas lovers’ dream.
Plus, added bonus, while enjoying the Christmas decorations, you might have the opportunity to watch one of the many wedding parties that sally through the lobby on a daily basis. Watching beautiful young couples in their wedding wear simply adds to the magic of the main lobby.

Grand Floridian Christmas Decor Beyond the Lobby
Take a glance through the Grand Floridian shops, and you will find Christmas décor in every corner.
Walk around the grounds, and you might find extra trees. You can continue to listen to more music and see more live Christmas flowers lining the walkways.
The Grand Floridian stands out as a Disney hotel with lots of class and style. However, at Christmas, no other resort can hold a candle to the extent of traditional Christmas decoration.
If you want to stay at a Disney resort that will really pump you full of the Christmas spirit, I recommend the Grand Floridian.
And, even if you don’t stay there, a visit to the grand lobby, the gingerbread house, and the enormous Christmas tree are well worth the monorail ride from The Magic Kingdom. Visiting the resort at Christmas is a must-do.
Grab a gingerbread treat. Listen to the live music. Walk around the grounds and enjoy the Christmas touches everywhere from the lobby to the pools.
The entire Victorian ambiance of the Grand Floridian is elevated at Christmas time when magic and Pixie Dust are served with Christmas cheer.
